WANGARATTA CUP UP FOR GRABS THIS SATURDAY NIGHT
Speedway Wangaratta fires back into action again this Saturday night with the 6th year (4th Running) of the Wangaratta Cup for GP Midgets and a demolition derby to come at the end of the night. Recently crowned Australian Champion Rod Saville headlines the list of nominations along with NSW #55 Trevor Perry who has owned this race the past 2 times it's been run . Last start winner and current Aust #2 Jason Crawford in the V50 will be out to stop them both and keep his good form going. Chris Fowler will be hoping to finish a full night of racing which he has only done once so far this season, although he has shown good speed and will be in contention for the win on Saturday night if he can keep the car together. Mark Blackeby has been the silent assassin this season steadily improving and picking up points to sit in 2nd place in the Ballistic Performance Parts Masters Series only 52 points behind Jason Crawford, Mark knows there is some tough competition close behind him and he'll be wanting to make the most of the valuable points on offer this Saturday night. One of those sitting right behind in points is Sean Denning, currently 3rd, who'll be running the legs off the sheep mobile, whilst Travis Florrimell and Lisa Chalcraft will also be looking to improve their position on the points table. Rounding out the field is Troy Buis who's fixed his clutch problem suffered last meeting and is keen to get back out there turning some laps and giving the rest of the competition something to think about. So if you're looking for all the action this Saturday night 27th April it'll be at Wangaratta Speedway with gates open at 12pm and racing from 5pm. Also on the program are Standard Saloons, Sports Sedans, 3ltrs, Ladies, Juniors and the not to miss demolition derby.
