NOMINATIONS STRONG FOR GP MIDGETS AT RUSHWORTH THIS SATURDAY
As we near the end of April, most classes are winding down towards the end of the season, but not so for the GP Midgets. After losing Round 6 of the Ballistic Performance Parts Masters Series to torrential rain at Redline a week ago a strong field of 14 cars have entered for this weekend's Round 7 at Rushworth Speedway. "The class is going from strength to strength with the largest car count for the season", President John Fowler said "it's great to see new drivers joining and the passion & enthusiasm they show which is certainly injecting new energy into club". Not only is the car count looking promising for the club but the talent is as strong as ever with the recently crowned back to back Australian Champion Trevor Perry, Victorian Champion Danny Stainer, Multiple Time Series Champions Dennis Myers, and 2016 & 2017 Series Champion's in Lisa Chalcraft and Jason Crawford all headlining the list of nominations. However it doesn't stop there when you think of potential victors this Saturday night with Travis Florimell who has been quick all season, David Bacon who has been on the improve all season long and Chris Fowler who has had good results around Rushworth in the past. Then you have Shawn Ward, Mark Blackeby and Sean Denning who have been fighting it out all season long. Troy Buis returns ready to jump back into the seat of the V5 car and the club welcomes two new drivers in Brandon Turner who missed out on a debut at Redline and Andrew Ward brother of Shawn who is excited to get his first taste of GP Midget racing. All is in place for an exciting night's racing and come final time the drivers will be hanging it out and leaving nothing in the tank by the time the checker flag drops. Not often can you guarantee getting great value entertainment but if you make the trip to Rushworth Speedway that's what you're going to get from the GP Midgets.
See you all there.
