GP'S NYORA BOUND AS TITLE FIGHT HEATS UP

This Saturday night Nyora Raceway will light up with the best GP Midget drivers in the state to see who will be crowned the 2018 Victorian Champion. The GP Midgets first travelled to the Gippsland track last season and put on some spectacular racing for the fans. This time round there will be a full contingent of drivers who be fighting it out for the top prize. “It’s going to be a great night’s racing down at Nyora, all the drivers are really looking forward to it and there is a real buzz around the club for this event” Club President John Fowler said. “Nyora puts on a great show and pull a good crowd, it’s great to see how much the locals get behind their speedway racing.”

Supporting this year’s event as co-naming right sponsors are local businesses Anchorage Boarding Kennels & Cattery based in Tooradin and ABBA Kennels & Cattery based in Dandenong South. John Fowler said “We’re delighted to get the support from the local businesses who have come on board to support this event, it's great for our club but also great for the sport in general. Without their support we wouldn’t be able to make the event what it will be Saturday night.” Nominations for the event have been announced each night over the past couple of weeks via the GP Midgets facebook page with all the big names that were expected to nominate in there. The likes of current Australian and NSW Champion Trevor Perry, former Australian, NSW and Victorian Champion Danny Stainer, former Australian Champion Paul Perry and former Masters Series Champions in Lisa Chalcraft and Jason Crawford will be hard to beat. However, the talent doesn’t stop there with Travis Florimell & David Bacon showing this season that they’re not easy beats either, Chris Fowler, Mark Blackeby, Sean Denning and Shawn Ward amongst the nominations it could be anyone’s race to win. It’s expected that a big crowd will descend on the grassy banks at Nyora Raceway this Saturday night to watch all action with a full list of classes booked. There will be posters and give a way’s for the fans, so make sure you come down and meet the drivers after the racing. Racing starts from 5pm, don't miss out on this one!
