Rev Heads Head To Redline For Round 3
Christmas is looming however all the focus this coming Saturday night will be on Redline Raceway Ballarat as the Grand Prix Midgets roll into town for Round 3 of the Ballistic Performance Parts Masters Series. All drivers will be looking to finish 2016 off with a win prior to the Christmas break. With the competition heating up in this year's series it is the 2014/15 series champion Lisa Chalcraft who currently leads the way 8 points ahead of Trevor Perry, this year's Jason Glynn Memorial winner. Chasing them hard will be reigning series champion Jason Crawford who currently sits in 3rd place in the series and will be looking to turn his luck around after destroying the front end of the V50 car in the third heat race at Wangaratta last start. Sean Denning has driven 2 different cars in the first two rounds and round three will be no different as he jumps into the Anskaitis built chassis which was recently purchased from Greg Campbell. Sean will be sporting V52 as he looks to continue the form that currently see's him in 4th place in the championship. Greg Campbell won't be without a drive though as he will pilot the Perry Bros Racing V44 car for the weekend. Last start feature winner Chris Fowler will look to continue the way he finished off at Wangaratta after a horrid start to the season. Travis Florimell will be back in action again after missing the last round due to personal commitments but he has showed in the first round at Avalon that the V81 car has a lot of pace and no doubt will be up the front somewhere. Scott Laird got everyone's attention at Wangaratta when he launched the A1 car skywards in the feature race however Paul Perry gives him another opportunity this weekend. Marty Job after a few teething problems with his new V31 car will be good for the run and in the mix this weekend. David Bacon was another who had issues last round and will have the V36 sorted and ready to go. The racing in the GP Midget class keeps getting closer and closer and this Saturday night will be no different when the GP Midgets take to the high banks of Redline Raceway. This is the drivers last chance to get their cars right before the Victorian Title in January so nothing will be left in the tank. This will be a great meeting to close out the year before the Christmas break with racing starting at 4pm.
