Strong Field As Wangaratta Hosts Round 2 This Saturday

After an eye catching performance in Round 1 of the Ballistic Performance Parts Masters Series Trevor Perry will be looking to make it two from two feature wins this Saturday night at Wangaratta City Speedway as the GP Midgets head north for round 2 of the series. Although winning the feature race on the night, it was Jason Crawford who came out on top of the points with a very consistent performance for the Pitstop Mowers team. Crawford who is the reigning Masters Series Champion knows just what it takes to win a competitive series like this but he'll have his work cut out for him again this year. The Australian Champion Paul Perry seemed to struggle a little at Avalon Raceway the other week however he'll more than likely be on a charge again once the green flag drops on Saturday. The depth of talent continues with former series champion Lisa Chalcraft in her Gulf Western Oils backed V15 ready to continue her always consistent form. Multiple times Australian and Series champion Dennis Myers returns this week in what has been a reduced racing schedule for him over the last couple of seasons. Greg Campbell couldn't wipe the smile off his face after his first outing at Avalon in round 1 and will certainly improve on that performance this week. Sean Denning looked to be out of a ride last week with the sale of the V5 car however Travis Florimell has offered Denning a seat in his car for this weekend as Florimell has other commitments.

Chris Fowler hasn't had the start to the season he was hoping for after destroying an engine in the first two laps at Avalon. Chris has reverted back to his spare engine for this weekend and will hope to make it through the meeting unscathed. In the second of the JF Racing team cars Marty Job will debut his new stinger chassis. The V31 has a new paint scheme which will stand out from their usual yellow colour. David Bacon returns again in the V36, after a couple of issues in round 1 he will have the car sorted and ready to go. An accomplished racer in open wheel categories such as Mini Sprints and Wingless Sprints, Wayne Hurford is now turning his hand to GP Midgets. Wayne has taken up an opportunity to pilot the Perry Bros Racing V44 machine for Trevor Perry for this weekend. Trevor has previously had Super Rod driver Michael Coad in the seat at Avalon and he couldn't wipe the smile off his face saying that this car is a rocket. With such a competitive field lined up the racing will be tight and there will be battles throughout the entire field. Make sure you get to Wangaratta City Speedway this Saturday night for all the action including Super Sedans and a Demo Derby with racing from 4pm.
